Sescon Records Two Thousand and One |
Sescon Records is a pop-punk, alternative rock, pop label operated by guitarist/pianist/vocalist Mark Sescon. His job consists of sitting around his studio (Mark Sescon Studios) and recording songs. Plus he has to sleep sometimes. If you have a demo tape don't send it to us. We like to search, not be found. Since we
aren't into that big coperate crap, we distribute MP3s
via internet. We use to put it on Napster, but we Napster
shut down. We currently Sescon
Records is also a family owned business. Mark Sescon
started it and his sister Marie Sescon helps him. She
does stuff and he does stuff We are stationed at Mark Sescon's house. We press our own CDs and tapes and make our own websites (except the Nothing from Nowhere site). We also record in our own studios (Mark Sescon Sutdios, JD's Studio, and Chris's Studio) decreasing any costs by $400. We are really low budget. Also, we are located in Bakersfield, California. BIO - As Told By Mark Sescon One rainy day (actually Summer day), My band and I (Nothing from Nowhere) recorded a demo. In search of a label to sign us, I said "Screw this crap. I'm going to make the rules." I did and started Sekoston Records. I feared Eric Koston was going to sue me, so I used my name-sake; Sescon. Well, I kept on releasing albums and EPs constantly. In the end I met some cool bands, signed them, recorded their music, and that is how they are here. The only artist who doesn't record his music in my studio is Wrek. Wrek and I decided one day to do some songs together. I wrote some songs in Drop-D tuning (around 20 songs) and recorded them. That is where the JD Chronicles split came from. Look around the site because this is all I remember from starting the label. Oh yeah, to all those who didn't believe I could start a band, sing, play piano, own a studio, and run a label.... WHOS RIGHT NOW? |
